Onye Dika Chim ?

"Onye Dika Chim?" is a reverent Igbo offering hymn that brings a familiar melody into the solemnity of the Mass. The composer, Paschal C. Anokwu, adapted a well-known Igbo praise chorus, carefully modifying the words to direct the congregation's worship toward the Blessed Trinity during the presentation of gifts.

The verses focus on the holy sacrifice being prepared at the altar. The choir sings of the gifts brought before God by the Christian faithful, offering them for both the living and the dead. As the piece moves into the refrain and chorus, it breaks into a profound declaration of God's unmatched greatness—"ọ dịghị onye dị ka Gị" (there is no one like You).

Designed to be sung at a measured, solemn pace, this piece gives the Offertory procession a deep sense of awe. It allows the choir and the congregation to reflect on the majesty of the Father, the Creator of heaven, as they bring their sacrifices to the altar.
