ONDU MENYI ALO

"Ondu Menyi Alo" is a solemn and deeply moving Kyrie setting composed in the Idoma language. Written by Jude Nnam in 2002, the piece was originally arranged for a priestly ordination at the Pro-Cathedral in Abuja, carrying a sense of reverence fitting for such a profound liturgical moment.

During the Penitential Rite, the choir leads the congregation in this earnest plea for God's compassion. The melody unfolds with a gentle, deliberate pacing, repeating the cries of "Ondu menyi alo" (Lord, have mercy) and "Christi menyi alo" (Christ, have mercy).
