KPOSHIEME - A Song of Thanksgiving by Anokwu Paschal C — Lyrics
About KPOSHIEME - A Song of Thanksgiving
"Kposhieme" is a vibrant and rhythmic Igbo thanksgiving anthem that immediately brings a sense of joyful celebration to the choir loft. Composed by Anokwu Paschal C., the piece is built around a deep sense of gratitude for God's marvelous deeds. From the opening lines asking who else could do such great and good things ("Onye lee menam iheoma"), the song invites the congregation to reflect on the blessings of the Creator, the King of Kings ("Eze n'di Eze").
Musically, the arrangement is full of energy, with interlocking vocal parts that drive the praise forward. As the song progresses, it calls on everyone—the youth, the elders, and the children ("Januya Okoro, Januya ndi Okenye...")—to join in the chorus of thanksgiving. It is an excellent choice for the Offertory procession or as a rousing Recessional hymn, especially on days of harvest or dedicated thanksgiving, leaving the faithful with a spirit of profound gratitude as they sing "Agama Ja ya mma" (I will praise Him).
