About Kol Rina
This is a setting for three-part women's voices (SSA) of a Hebrew text which, in its first part, speaks of the sound of joy and salvation in the tents of the righteous. The second part of the text, in Yiddish, offers heartfelt congratulations, wishing long life to the Rabbi and good fortune to all the Hasidim and the match-making families. This anonymous work is a sacred canon, a form often used for congregational singing and for teaching musical principles. The joyful message of the text is enhanced by the canonic structure, creating a sense of unified celebration.
