JESUS! O JESUS!!

"Jesus! O Jesus!!" is a deeply reverent Efik worship song composed by Boniface S. A. Inyang. Written as a set piece for the Uyo Diocesan Provincial Music Congress, it centers entirely on the mystery of the Holy Eucharist. The lyrics speak of the "Edisana Eucharist" as the true food of the soul, calling the faithful to approach the altar with a sense of awe, repentance, and deep adoration for the Body and Blood of Christ.

In the choir loft, this piece shines during Communion or periods of Benediction and Adoration. The arrangement opens with a gentle female solo that sets a penitential and pleading tone, asking for the grace to truly know and receive the Lord. As the full choir joins in the refrains and verses, the harmony swells to reflect the magnitude of the "akwa uwa" (great sacrifice) on the cross. The final stacked solo section offers a beautiful, contemplative conclusion, praying for peace, forgiveness, and the grace to receive Him worthily at the last breath.
