Mary was a good child, raised to do her duty.
And this was God!
But God didn't say, "Mary! Mary you have to! Mary you must!"
What God said was, "Mary, will you trust?"
Mary said yes to God.
He didn't coerce, He didn't demand, He let her make her choice.
And Mary said yes to God.
Jesus said yes to God.
He didn't want to: he knew that all that was to come was death.
