"In the Lord I'll be Ever Thankful" is a beloved meditative chant from the Taizé Community, composed by Jacques Berthier. Built on a simple, repeating ostinato, the piece invites the choir and congregation to settle into a deep, continuous prayer. As the main refrain loops, the four-part harmony deepens and the words—"Look to God, do not be afraid"—become a gentle, reassuring mantra.

The score includes three verses designed to be sung by a cantor (the arranger notes a preference for a male voice) while the rest of the choir sustains the underlying refrain.
