The ATB voices weave together in a flowing texture that evokes the contemplative mood of the text. This motet sets verses from the Gospel of Matthew, depicting Christ's prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane. The Latin words speak of his human struggle, his submission to the Father's will, and his plea for his disciples to 'watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation.'
