This SSATB work is designed for performance during Imbolc, the ancient Gaelic festival marking the midpoint between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. Its sacred and pagan themes evoke the deep stillness of winter beginning to yield to the first stirrings of new life. Leanne Daharja Veitch's setting creates an atmospheric soundscape, ideal for a choir seeking music that reflects the turning of the seasons and the quiet anticipation of renewal. The wordless nature of the piece allows for profound expression through vocal colour and texture, inviting singers and listeners alike to connect with the primal forces of nature and the subtle shifts of the year.
