About Hvalite Gospoda s nebes
Atanas Badev composed this sacred anthem for SATB choir. The text is a paraphrase of Psalm 148, calling upon all creation, from the heavens and angels to the earth, its creatures, and human rulers, to praise the Lord. The music sets this grand invocation with rich harmonies and a majestic scope. Although the title and opening are given in Church Slavonic, the main body of the text is in Latin, reflecting the rich liturgical traditions of Eastern and Western Christianity. This anthem offers a powerful musical setting of a universal call to praise.
