This setting of the Eucharistic words from the liturgy is appropriate for Communion. The Latin text, taken from the Gospels, forms the core of the rite. John Reager sets the words "This body which shall be given for you: this is the new testament in my blood, says the Lord: do this as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me" with a clear, devotional focus. Composed for SATB choir, the motet draws on the rich tradition of sacred polyphony, offering a moment of profound reflection during the Mass.
