About Harmony
When we gather in the choir loft, there are certain pieces that instantly lift the mood of the room. This collection of praises, opening with the joyful English piece "Harmony," does exactly that. It is a vibrant celebration of unity and the Holy Spirit's presence, calling everyone to dance and share in the joy of the Lord. The simple, repetitive lines make it incredibly easy for the congregation to catch the spirit and join in the singing.
As the music flows into the subsequent sections, we are treated to a wonderful blend of English and Ghanaian languages, particularly Akan. Pieces like "Osoro Nka" and the bilingual "This is the Day" bring a rhythmic, highlife feel to the worship experience. Singing "Ndɛ nye da Ew'radzeayɛ" alongside "This is the day the Lord has made" bridges cultures and reminds us of the universal call to rejoice.
Closing with the prayerful "Suo Mo Mu," the collection offers a complete journey from exuberant dancing to a grounded, trusting faith in God's blessings. Choirs will find these arrangements perfect for festive occasions, thanksgiving services, or any moment in the liturgy where an uplifting, rhythmic expression of gratitude is needed to move the hearts of the people.
