About Great Apollo
This energetic glee, Great Apollo, by Samuel Webbe is ideal for a festive gathering, perhaps a concert or a celebration. The text extols the god of music and poetry, urging a joyous night crowned with song. It depicts the arrival of Apollo's music, so beautiful and pure that it must be divine. Composed for two four-part choirs (SSTB and TTTB), this piece offers rich harmonic possibilities and allows for a dynamic interplay between the vocal ensembles.
