About Goshen

A dramatic setting of an English text, Daniel Belknap's Goshen is conceived for SATB choir. The lyrics herald the arrival of a triumphant divine Conqueror, whose power is absolute and irresistible. The music would suit occasions of solemn proclamation or a celebration of God's might. The text speaks of the futility of resistance against this sovereign Lord, portraying His arrival with potent imagery of legions filling the sky and angelic trumpets awakening the dead. This is a powerful sacred work that would make a strong statement in any service or concert.
