Uyi Ogh'Osa!

"Uyi Ogh'Osa!" is a vibrant setting of the Gloria in Edo (Bini), composed collaboratively by Emmanuel E. Aikodon, Charles I. Onwubunya, and John O. Ezomo. The title translates to "Glory to God," capturing the joyful essence of this major Mass part.

In the Catholic liturgy, the Gloria is the great hymn of praise sung after the Penitential Rite on Sundays and solemnities. This arrangement brings the traditional text to life through rhythmic solfa notation and rich four-part harmony. The choir opens with a resounding chorus of "Uyi ogh'Osa vbe he no yoo see" (Glory to God in the highest), establishing a celebratory mood that carries through the verses as the congregation reflects on God's peace and goodwill.

The piece is structured to allow different voice parts to shine, particularly in the final section where the alto leads the declaration "Rhunwun da weo kpa ọre nọ huanrẹn" (For you alone are the Holy One).
