Gloria et honore

This impressive setting of the Gloria et honore text, from Franz Xaver Witt, is for double SATB choir. The Latin text, drawn from the Mass propers, speaks of Christ being crowned with glory and honour, and placed in authority over all creation. The second part of the text, also from the liturgy, proclaims Jesus as the priest crowned by the Lord. Witt's music, for unaccompanied voices, would create a powerful and uplifting sound, ideal for a festive occasion.
