Gloria by Luca Purchiaroni — Lyrics
Gloria in excelsis Deo.
Et in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis.
Laudamus te. Benedicimus te.
Adoramus te. Glorificamus te.
Gratias agimus tibi propter magnam gloriam tuam.
Domine Deus, Rex caelestis, Deus Pater omnipotens.
Domine Fili unigenite, Iesu Christe.
Domine Deus, Agnus Dei, Filius Patris.

About Gloria
This setting of the Gloria is suitable for use within a Roman Catholic liturgy, perhaps for a Mass during a principal feast. The text, a central part of the Mass Ordinary, expresses praise and adoration to God the Father and Jesus Christ. Luca Purchiaroni sets this traditional Latin text for SATB choir, creating a rich and devotional musical experience. The music will likely evoke a sense of awe and reverence appropriate to the sacred words, celebrating God's glory and asking for mercy. It is a powerful liturgical statement for a choir.
