Gloria

When the choir strikes up the Gloria, the entire mood of the Mass lifts. This handwritten solfa arrangement by Austen Whyte sets the standard English text of the Roman Missal to a straightforward, chant-like melody. It carries the congregation through the great hymn of praise, moving from the angelic greeting of "peace to people of good will" down to the solemn petitions to the Lamb of God.
