Gaudete caelicolae omnes

This celebratory motet in Latin, Gaudete caelicolae omnes, calls to all the heavenly inhabitants to rejoice and clap their hands. It extols Christ, born of a mother who remained ever virgin, before, during, and after childbirth. The text implores that we be granted grace for our daily sins in this life, so that after our earthly life we may enjoy eternal life with the saints. Composed by John Sheppard, this sacred votive antiphon is written for STTB voices, offering a rich texture for an experienced choir.
