About Gaudeamus igitur
Gaudeamus igitur is a traditional student song, a popular anthem of celebration and camaraderie often sung at graduations and other academic ceremonies. Its Latin text, which translates to "Let us rejoice therefore while we are young," speaks of enjoying youthful pleasure before the inevitable hardship of old age and the finality of death.
