Da lächelt nun wieder der Himmel so blau,
mit schimmernden Blumen prangt Hügel und Au';
frisch blühts um die Wipfel, die Hecken sind Duft,
und fröhliche Lieder erfüllen die Luft.
In Tälern nun wallen, frei, sonder Verdruss,
und Hügel besteigen, ist Lebensgenuss.
Wer wollte noch weilen in lärmender Stadt,
die nichts als Beschwerden und Schattenwerk hat.
Wie bald, ach! verduften die Blumen ihr Sein!
Schon Tausende schlummern im Wiesental ein.
Vom Kirschbaume taumeln schon Blüten herab
und decken der Veilchen balsamisches Grab.
Was rings um uns grünet und lächelt, vergeht.
