Felice primavera

Felice primavera celebrates the joy of spring, with blossoming thoughts of love in the composer's heart. The earth and sky smile upon a new laurel of love, as the river Po is adorned with hyacinths and violets. Nymphs and shepherds dance, birds whisper amongst the leaves, and the murmur of waves accompanies the scene. Graces bestow gifts upon cherubic Loves. Rinaldo del Mel's setting is for SSATTB voices in Italian, a secular madrigal from the Renaissance. The music vividly paints the idyllic pastoral landscape and the blossoming feelings of love described in the text, creating a rich and colourful sonic experience.
