Exaltabunt sancti by Jeffrey Quick — Lyrics
Alleluja. Cantate Domino canticum novum;
laus ejus in ecclesia sanctorum.
Laetetur Israël in eo qui fecit eum,
et filii Sion exsultent in rege suo.
Laudent nomen ejus in choro;
in tympano et psalterio psallant ei.
Quia beneplacitum est Domino in populo suo,
et exaltabit mansuetos in salutem.
Exsultabunt sancti in gloria;

About Exaltabunt sancti
The Latin text, drawn from Psalm 149, paints a vibrant scene of exultant saints praising God. It speaks of joy, celebration, and divine justice, with the faithful singing God's praises in a 'choro' and 'in tympano et psalterio'. Jeffrey Quick's setting for SATB choir captures this celebratory spirit. The music amplifies the text's call to praise and the ultimate glorification of the saints. It is an offering of praise in the sacred tradition, drawing on the rich heritage of Latin liturgical text.
