About Ecco solinga
The poem paints a picture of a solitary woman, a friend to the woods, who responds to others' music. She is sought by Fillide, who craves her love and flees the singer's laments. The singer pleads for honesty, asking if it is true that Fillide weeps or sighs for him, and if she nourishes her sweet pain with the hope of his love. He asks who will believe his love if she is so capricious. He implores this graceful, playful image to tell her that he loves her more than his own heart.
