Die Heer die wou regneren - ps 96

Sing this SATB setting of Psalm 96 in Dutch for sacred occasions, perhaps during Advent or Christmastide, when the church reflects on the Lord's coming reign. The text celebrates God's kingship over all creation, calling for earth to rejoice and the islands to sing. Boscoop's music draws on the richness of Renaissance part-music, weaving the voices together to express the jubilant message that righteousness and strength are God's. The composer captures the text's powerful imagery, from the gathering clouds and darkness to the righteous judgment that upholds God's reign.
