About Deutsches Magnificat
Christoph Dalitz's Deutsches Magnificat is a setting of the Magnificat text for SAB choir. The work draws on the rich tradition of Vespers canticles within the sacred repertoire. It presents the traditional Latin text of the Magnificat, famously sung by Mary at the Annunciation, which recounts God's favour and the exaltation of the humble. Dalitz complements this with German translations, offering a bilingual approach to this devotional text. The music aims to capture the profound joy and spiritual reflection inherent in Mary's song of praise.
