Des Vogels Freude by Joseph Gersbach — Lyrics
1.

About Des Vogels Freude
Joseph Gersbach, a composer of German Lieder and partsongs, offers Des Vogels Freude, a secular setting for SATB choir. The German text paints a vivid picture of a bird in flight, soaring joyfully through the blue sky, over mountains and valleys, and through clouds and forests. The lyrics express a longing for the freedom of the bird, wishing to fly towards the sun and see its golden gardens. Gersbach captures this sense of exhilaration and yearning, creating a vibrant and evocative musical experience that celebrates the beauty of nature and the freedom of flight.
