Come Holy Spirit

When we need a quiet, earnest invocation for Pentecost or a confirmation Mass, Azuine-Uche Bruno’s setting of "Come Holy Spirit" is a wonderful choice. The piece takes its text directly from a beloved prayer by St. Augustine, asking the Spirit to take over our thoughts, our work, and our hearts. It is not a loud, rushing-wind kind of Pentecost anthem, but rather a gentle, personal plea for inner transformation.

The music flows with a calm, steady reverence that perfectly matches the words. As the choir moves through the three short verses, the harmony remains grounded and meditative. Singing lines like "Attract my heart Holy Spirit that I may love only what is Holy" gives both the choir and the congregation a moment of deep reflection. It is an ideal piece for the preparation of gifts or as a communion meditation, drawing everyone into a quiet space of prayer and surrender to the Spirit's guidance.
