About Christus ist geboren
Opening for Advent or Christmas services, this German hymn expresses the joyous news of Christ's birth. Liszt's setting for SSA voices, with its evocative imagery of harps, winds, and bells, calls for a bright, resonant sound. The repeated "Christus ist geboren" provides a powerful and celebratory refrain, making this a moving addition to seasonal liturgical music. Its clear melodic lines and accessible harmonies offer a rewarding experience for choirs seeking to convey the profound message of the Nativity.
