About Christmas
Samuel Babcock's Christmas is a three-part sacred setting for treble, solo bass, and solo tenor voices. The music opens with the interplay of the voices, soon joined by the full ensemble in an engaging depiction of the Annunciation. The text recounts the arrival of the archangel Gabriel, God's messenger, bearing tidings to Earth.
