Two women, Alice and Colette, share their woes and secrets. Alice laments her difficult husband, wishing she could sleep alone. Colette, however, offers a rather more practical, and perhaps scandalous, solution: if he sleeps too soundly, she suggests, the true and certain remedy is to find a lover. Pierre de Manchicourt's chanson sets this intimate, witty exchange in French for SATT voices.
