OVBIOHUANOSA

"Ovbiohuanosa" is a reverent setting of the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) sung in the Bini (Edo) language. Composed by Oluleke Oluwaseyi, this short and solemn piece is designed for the fraction rite during the Catholic Mass, where the choir leads the congregation in asking for God's mercy and peace.

The score is written in solfa notation for a four-part choir. It follows the traditional structure of the prayer, opening with the plea "O Vbiohuanosa u vio ru khòó agbòn kua" (Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world). The first section concludes with "Tohan mwan" (have mercy on us), while the final phrase shifts to the gentle petition "Rhi'ofure gbe ni man" (grant us peace), preparing the hearts of the faithful for Communion.
