About C - Ježíše Krista Krále
Karel Bříza’s responsory C - Ježíše Krista Krále is written for two voices, soprano and tenor. The text is in Czech and draws on psalmody, with the chorus singing "Do domu Hospodinova půjdeme s radostí" ('Into the house of the Lord we will go with joy'). The verses speak of the joy of entering the Temple in Jerusalem, where the tribes of Israel would ascend to praise God’s name and where the judgment seats of David’s house were situated. This setting would suit a service or concert where the theme of joyful pilgrimage and praise is central.
