C - Christ Roi by Remi Studer — Lyrics
Dans la joie, nous irons à la maison du Seigneur.
1. Quelle joie quand on m’a dit :
"Nous irons à la maison du Seigneur."
Maintenant notre marche prend fin
devant tes portes, Jérusalem !

About C - Christ Roi
Remi Studer’s Christ Roi is a sacred setting for SATB choir of a French text, drawing from the tradition of responsorial psalms. The music accompanies words of exultation and homecoming, expressing profound joy at the prospect of reaching the Lord’s house and the holy city of Jerusalem. The text speaks of unity within Jerusalem and the praise due to the Lord’s name, referencing the lineage of King David and invoking blessings for peace upon the city. It culminates in a jubilant Alleluia and a declaration of praise for he who comes in the Lord’s name, heralding the coming kingdom. This piece would be particularly suitable for occasions celebrating pilgrimage, thanksgiving, or the Feast of Christ the King, offering a powerful expression of spiritual aspiration and communal celebration.
