BO-FI

"Bo-Fi" (Come and eat) is an inviting Ijaw communion hymn composed by Jude Nnam. It serves as a gentle call to the Lord's table, welcoming the congregation to partake in the Eucharistic feast. The melody carries a warm, reverent tone that fits naturally into the sacred moments of the Mass when the faithful step forward to receive communion.

The verses call everyone to come and eat ("Kime sese bofi") and drink ("bouo"), specifically mentioning the body of Jesus Christ ("Zesu Kristi buru"). It emphasizes the promise of eternal life—that those who partake will not die but live forever ("fagha Akpor yerin"). This profound message of spiritual nourishment resonates deeply with the choir and the congregation, making it a moving piece for the Communion rite.

Written in solfa notation, the arrangement allows choirs to easily learn and harmonize the parts.
