About Benedictus in a Flat
C. A. Havens' Benedictus in A Flat offers a rich harmonic setting for SATB choir. The music opens with a clear and noble character, establishing a serene atmosphere that supports the deeply spiritual Latin text. As the piece unfolds, the composer skillfully uses the four vocal parts to create moments of both expansive grandeur and intimate reflection. The interplay between the voices mirrors the unfolding narrative of praise and thanksgiving for divine redemption and the promise of salvation. The setting moves between Latin and English text, making it accessible for choirs seeking to explore this significant sacred work.
