Beata Dei genitrix

This sacred responsory sets a Latin text celebrating the Virgin Mary. The words proclaim her blessedness as the Mother of God, whose virginity remained intact even as she gave birth to the Saviour of the world. The piece is scored for SATB choir. The text speaks of Mary's faith, asserting that all things promised to her by the Lord have been fulfilled. This short, devotional work would be a fitting addition to services or concerts during Marian feast days or at any time the choir wishes to explore the rich repertoire of Renaissance sacred polyphony.
