Avecque vous

In this secular French song, the poet declares that their love will end only with them, as their heart belongs solely to their beloved. They implore their love to be content, for even when the body is dead, the spirit will continue to serve them. Thomas Mancinus sets this heartfelt declaration for a double-bass duo. The music reflects the deep devotion expressed in the text, offering a poignant musical setting of Renaissance part-music ideals.
