Aromática rosa Americana by José de Nebra — Lyrics
Estribillo

About Aromática rosa Americana
A Christmas carol, or villancico, by José de Nebra, this SATB setting in Spanish is a devotional meditation on the Virgin Mary, calling her an American rose, an honor to the Church and the world. The text praises her purity and excellence, comparing her to a fragrant lily and a precious jewel. The music would suit a Christmas service or concert, offering a rich harmonic language suitable for a choir looking for a sacred work from the Spanish Baroque tradition. The composer's setting brings to life the text's fervent praise and Marian devotion.
