Andino uwem

"Andinọ Uwem" is a joyful Efik/Ibibio hymn of thanksgiving that lifts our hearts to the "Giver of Life." When the choir sings this piece, we remind the congregation of God's endless generosity. The verses walk through everything we have to be grateful for—from the food we eat and the health we enjoy, to the ultimate gift of God's only Son who came to redeem us.

Musically, the piece builds a wonderful sense of gratitude. The verses are sung in a steady, unified rhythm, laying out our praises to the Lord of heaven, sea, and earth. Then the refrain opens up with a repeating call of "O! Andinọ" (O Giver), where the voices weave together in harmony. It is a perfect choice for the Offertory or any moment of thanksgiving during Mass, as the final verse notes that whatever we offer to God on earth cannot compare to the glory He prepares for us in heaven.
