Amável Santa Rosa by Pedro Sinzig — Lyrics
Amável santa Rosa,
Esposa de Jesus,
Alcança que vejamos,
Do paraíso a luz!
Rosa aromada e pura,
Em nosso coração.
Destila o néctar santo,
De tua devoção.
Violeta humilde e casta

About Amável Santa Rosa
Amável Santa Rosa is a sacred song in Portuguese, sung in unison. The text is a heartfelt invocation to Saint Rose of Lima, often called the "Star of America." It praises her as the spouse of Jesus and compares her to a fragrant rose and a humble violet, asking her to intercede for the faithful to see the light of paradise and to receive the nectar of her devotion. The lyrics celebrate her imitation of seraphic love and her strength against evil, praying that she will inspire courage to reject worldly temptations. The song ultimately expresses a desire for souls to fly to heaven, to sing the glories of the Lord with her in eternal ardor.
