ALLELUIA NA ADA

When Easter morning finally breaks in the choir loft, "Alleluia Na Ada" is exactly the kind of song that captures the overflowing joy of the Resurrection. The title translates to "Alleluia is resounding," and from the very first notes, Raphael Umeh’s composition does exactly that. It announces the core of the Easter message: Christ has risen just as He promised, and death has been completely defeated.

The verses take the congregation on a journey from the chains of sin to the ultimate victory. We sing of humanity once held in bondage, now set free by Christ's sacrifice. The second verse boldly taunts the grave, asking, "Ọnwụ olee ike gị?" (Death, where is your power?), echoing the triumphant words of Saint Paul. It is a moment of pure celebration for a Nigerian Catholic choir, where the voices rise together to praise the "Onye mmeri" (the Victor) who has awakened.
