About ALLELUIA!

"Alleluia" and "Uba, Ji Addu'ar Mu" bring together two essential moments of the Mass in a beautifully simple Hausa setting. Written in solfa notation for four-part harmony, this sheet provides choirs with both a joyful Gospel acclamation and a reverent response for the intercessions. The melodies are straightforward and deeply rooted in the flow of Catholic liturgy in Northern Nigeria, making them easy for a congregation to pick up and sing along during Sunday Mass.

The first section is a bright, rhythmic "Alleluia" that prepares the church to hear the Gospel. Following it is the Prayer of the Faithful response, "Uba, ji addu'ar mu, Ka ji tausayin ya'yanKa" (Father, hear our prayer, have pity on your children). The composer notes that this second part can be sung softly in the background while the intercessions are read. This creates a continuous, prayerful atmosphere in the church, allowing the choir to gently support the reader before swelling for the final congregational response. It is a highly practical and spiritually moving arrangement for any Hausa-speaking parish.
