The second section, "Me na yi a gaban Ku?" (What have I done to you?), is a poignant setting of the traditional Good Friday Reproaches. A cantor chants the verses, recounting God's saving acts—leading the people out of Egypt, parting the sea, and providing manna in the desert—contrasted sharply with the people's betrayal, from handing Him over to Pilate to crowning Him with thorns. After each verse, the choir and congregation return to the sorrowful refrain, asking for an answer to the Lord's gentle but piercing question.
