About A Lua
Álvaro Loreto's A Lua paints a nocturnal scene on the ocean. The Portuguese words describe the moon's reflection on calm waters, evoking a dreamlike merging of sea and sky. The moon itself emerges from the waves, a solitary and silent figure. This work for solo female voices is cast as a canon, a form that creates intricate musical textures through imitation.
