A coin that time cannot take

Jennifer Bastable's A coin that time cannot take is a thoughtful setting for SATB choir of an English text. This secular partsong reflects on the enduring value of cherished memories, contrasting them with transient wealth. The composer captures the sentiment that the internal richness of recollection far surpasses any material treasure. The flowing melodic lines and rich harmonies of the SATB voicing support the gentle, reflective nature of the poem, making it an ideal choice for choirs seeking a piece that is both musically engaging and emotionally resonant. The music explores the idea of a memory as a secure treasure, impervious to the ravages of time or the actions of others.
