About A - 23. neděle v mezidobí
Karel Bříza's responsory for two voices, S and T, are settings of sacred Czech texts. The music is drawn from the biblical psalms and prophetic books, with a focus on the importance of heeding God's word and avoiding a hardened heart, recalling the Israelites' journey in the desert. The responsorial form, with its recurring refrain, would have served to punctuate and reinforce the message throughout a service. Bříza's setting offers a direct and powerful musical interpretation of these ancient scriptures, suitable for liturgical use.
