11 Adventslieder

These eleven German unison songs offer a collection of Advent and Christmas themes suitable for congregational singing. The texts explore anticipation of the Messiah's coming, calls to praise, and Marian devotion, with titles like "Tauet, Himmel den Gerechten" (O Heavens, dew the Just One), "Maria, sei gegrüßet" (Mary, be thou greeted), and "O du Himmelskönigin" (O thou Queen of Heaven). The selection provides a range of devotional reflections appropriate for the liturgical season, from the call to wakefulness in "Meine Seele, auf und singe" (My Soul, arise and sing) to the humble prayer of "In Demut betend, Herr, vor Dir" (In humility praying, Lord, before Thee).
